A Sensei Develops Others for Excellence

I have been a warrior for the past twenty years and have observed that mentoring and proper development is often missing from the military outside of attending professional development courses. So much of the focus every day is on getting the mission accomplished that personnel development often falls by the wayside.

I have created this blog as one of the ways in which I can share knowledge and lessons I have learned through my twenty years of service with others. The observations that I share will provide a way to think about things, but they do not represent the only way to achieve mission success.

I believe that those of us that have gone on ahead have an obligation to share what we have learned with those who follow us to ensure you do not repeat the same mistakes we did. Success leaves clues and it is my desire to share what I have learned that has helped me be successful throughout my career. I want you to be successful too.

In martial arts students are taught by a sensei, or teacher, who instructs them in all the skills required to be a successful fighter. I will be your warrior sensei instructing you in the fine arts of the military profession. Together we will hone your skills and abilities to lead and make a difference wherever you happen to be assigned.

Are you ready to be the best? If so, follow me and I will make you leaders people want to follow.
